BIOGRAPHY

Christine Cáceres, also known by her spiritual name Taran Inder Kaur, is a yoga teacher, Reiki Master, meditation and healing arts practitioner, and lifelong student of the traditions of yoga and holistic wellness. She has maintained a dedicated personal yoga practice for more than 18 years and has been teaching for over 14 years.

Christine’s journey into yoga began in New York City, where she completed her first 200-hour Power Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga to the People on St. Marks Place. Her studies continued through Kundalini Yoga East, where she completed the 220-hour Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training and advanced study in the Level 3, 21 Stages of Meditation. She studied under Sat Jivan Kaur and Sat Jivan Singh and was also part of the teaching staff at Kundalini Yoga East.

Her path eventually led her deeply into the teachings of Dharma Yoga and the Hatha Raja Yoga lineage of Sri Dharma Mittra, who received his teachings through Yogi Gupta. Christine studied at the Dharma Yoga Center in New York City, completing a 500-hour LOAY-certified Dharma Yoga Registered Teacher training as well as additional 700-hour Dharma Yoga teacher training. These teachings have become an important foundation of her practice and teaching.

Christine has also spent time working with Yogi Prakash from Nepal of the Shanti Yoga Ashram, where she hosted his teachings and practices of Tantra Yoga in NYC and was representative if the ashram. Her studies have continued to expand beyond asana into the deeper dimensions of yoga, including meditation, pranayama, mantra, energetic awareness, and the integration of body, mind, and spirit and applies what she’s learned throughout the years in her work.

A lifelong professional singer and musician, Christine brings the transformative power of sound and vibration into her work. Her practice incorporates mantra, meditation, breathwork, sound healing, and 432 Hz meditative instruments, including the tongue drum. She recognizes sound as a powerful way to cultivate presence, deepen meditation, and create a more embodied experience of practice.

Christine is also trained in a broad range of therapeutic bodywork and energetic healing modalities. She is a Reiki Master and has professional massage licenses in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Arizona. Her bodywork studies and experience include traditional massage, Shiatsu, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), and YNMR, along with other therapeutic approaches to supporting the body’s natural capacity for balance and restoration.

Her teaching and private sessions weave together the many aspects of her training—Dharma Yoga, yoga asana, breathwork, meditation, mantra, sound healing, Reiki, and therapeutic bodywork—with the intention of meeting each person as a whole being.

Christine believes that yoga is much more than a physical practice. It is a path of self-inquiry, awareness, healing, and connection. Her work is rooted in respect for the traditional teachings while honoring the unique experiences and needs of each individual.

Through Yoga of the Light, Christine offers practices and sessions designed to support a deeper relationship with the body, the breath, the mind, and the subtle dimensions of being. Her intention is to create a space where students can slow down, listen inwardly, cultivate greater awareness, and reconnect with the light and wisdom that already exist within them.
